wikipedia test

Noun phrase. A critical thinking technique that serves as a foil against weak logic and false claims. Given any assertion about how a search engine processes Websites, if it can be shown that the same search engine does not process Wikipedia that way then it follows the assertion is probably untrue. e.g., Using subfolders is better for SEO than using subdomains. This assertion fails the Wikipedia Test because Wikipedia only publishes its content on non-www subdomains and it is considered one of the most SEO-successful Websites, ranking 1st or in the top results for millions of queries.
