scroll cloaking

Noun phrase. The practice of inserting a lot of white space, advertising, or uninteresting images between teaser content at the top of the page and the high-value content at the bottom. Scroll cloaking is sometimes used to hide large lists of links and/or malware scripts from human visitors.
