A Dynamic URL is the result of a search in a database driven website. The contents of the URL change depending on the search queries. The content of those pages also changes accordingly. Although they can be indexed and ranked, it is believed that static URLs provide SEO benefits. A mixture of both is recommended. For example, if your site has category pages with filters, the categories themselves can be static, but the filters can generate dynamic strings in the URLs. Its far better than having thousands of static URLs, one for each type of filter. Using a canonical tag from the filtered strings to the main static URL is recommended.
